TALK BRANDS #4: ATQM

We're almost half way through theTalk Casuals: Talk Brands collective, and this week were doing something a little different. Charlotte Wallace, 21, is the owner of ATQM, also known as All The Queens Men. ATQM is a clothing and accessories brand, specialising in hand made products, based in Liverpool.

I'm personally very much lusting over a black leather belt bag from ATQM, their stuff is so clean and so classy. ATQM highlights that being a brand owner means you can specialise in any area or form of fashion that interests you...

Where did ATQM all begin and what made you want to run your own brand?
ATQM was the brand I started for my FMP in uni and I just continued it after I finished. I've always wanted to work for myself so starting my own business was the only option for me. It allows me to have full creative control over everything I do and put my brands name towards.
How would you describe ATQM?
ATQM is a brand that simply good quality produce to create even better products that inspire people with confidence when it comes to expressing themselves fashion.
What is your favourite piece from your collection?
My favourite piece of the collection is probably the bright colours so probably the yellow belt bags.

If you could sum up your brand in 3 words, what would they be?
Innovative, daring and individual.
What for you has been the highlight of running ATQM to date?
Mainly just getting feed back from people, being asked to do interviews for magazines and blogs. It just makes me realise that people are enjoying what I'm doing as much I as am doing it.
What do you do outside ATQM?
Outside of ATQM I work in a restaurant to make money to support my business. Hopefully one day soon i can concentrate solely on ATQM and work for myself.

What is your favourite clothing brand, other than your own?
I have a few, for going out dress' I would probably say Aqua by Aqua. For everyday wear I think high street brands Topshop and Zara are amazing.
Favourite brand of footwear?
I don't really have a favourite brand of footwear I'm really into trainers or heels. I like sandals more, I'd probably just say the high street again.
Who would you most like to do a collaboration with and why?
I'd like to collaborate and do collaborate with up and coming designers, young designers like myself who don't have much experience but have got so many new and fresh ideas.

What can we expect to see from ATQM in the future?
In the future I would like to work with lots of young and new designers to help the brand develop. Working with other creatives to create new designs and projects.
What, in your opinion, is the best thing about running your own brand?
I have full creative control over everything to do with the brand.
What advice would you give to someone who may want to start their own brand?
I don't really know because I'm still trying to work that out for myself. I've been doing it for about 9 months and I've already made a million mistakes. So I think the only advice is Dont give up.
