Conceived from the intent to create socially relevant menswear aimed at showcasing the eccentricities of British design with refined precision; Native Youth’s SS15 collection bears witness to a visual surge in confidence for the burgeoning Manchester born brand.

Launched yesterday, Native Youth shot the SS15 collection with 21 year old Jake Barratt alongside David Gant, who at 72 years old wears the clothes as well as his younger counterpart.

Part one of the Native Youth collection is available at various UK independent and online at ASOS and Urban Outfitters. Check out more of the collection below, what do you think?

PUMA's latest release, the Trinomic "Marble Pack" features iconic PUMA silhouettes; the Blaze Of Glory and XT2+.

The XT2+ is one of PUMA’s most celebrated running designs, and a personal favourite of mine. Debuted in the early 90s the runner was the perfect vehicle for PUMA’s groundbreaking Trinomic technology. The performance orientated design and bold colourways saw the XT2+ adopted by the streets. The same goes for The Blaze of Glory. It’s futuristic shape and style also transcended the track and then made it's way into the rotation of the avid sneakerhead.

The Marble Pack is yet again another strong release for PUMA. Taking inspiration from current trends to create striking marble textures on these iconic PUMA silhouettes, can anyone oppose me saying it's an absolute winner?

The Marble Pack has a high quality leather execution and is finished with the cool marble décor effect on the Blaze Of Glory’s TPU pieces and XT2’s translucent heel cap. The perfect subtle trimming to an already strong silhouette. Keeping the focus on this desirable effect, the PUMA Marble Pack comes in Black and White.

I'm a big big fan of this pack, and PUMA do not seem to be slowing up - constantly producing an aesthetic thats pleasing to everyone!

The Trinomic 'Marble Pack' is available in-store and online from today, Friday 19th December 2014 at End Clothing, Footpatrol and WellGosh

It’s great to find a brand that celebrates strength and individuality. I couldn't think of a more perfect partner to collaborate with as a creative director. I'm excited for you to see what Puma and I come up with.

If you were anywhere on the internet over the last couple days, you'll know that PUMA and Global Cultural icon Rihanna, announced a new multi-year partnership, kicking off in January 2015!

I had mixed feelings when I heard the news, but I'm definitely intrigued none the less. There have definitely been some real mixed and controversial reactions to Rihanna's new position posted over social media, so I decided to do some digging myself. I found it really interesting chatting to people about what they think, so check out everything you need to know about the new partnership, and then have a read of some different opinions to the news below!

Rihanna will become PUMA’s global ambassador for Women’s Training and serve as the PUMA Women’s Creative Director, bringing her styling sensibilities and innovation to PUMA’s collections.  Embodying everything that PUMA stands for, Rihanna’s unstoppable spirit, creative energy and prowess both on and off the stage, make her the perfect representation of the PUMA brand.  Through this partnership, Rihanna will be the face of PUMA’s Women’s Training category. Fans can anticipate PUMA and Rihanna taking a fresh, forward thinking and non-traditional approach to sports, fitness and lifestyle – fusing Rihanna’s personality, love of sports, spirit and style into the growing footwear and apparel segment. Rihanna is no stranger to breaking the mould with beauty, fashion and lifestyle trends, so with PUMA’s support, Rihanna will no doubt bring her personal touch and creativity to the athletic world.

Rebel Yuth AKA John Speed is a Sussex/London based illustrator, who was involved in the Bench #Lovemyhood campaign with me back in November. Since then Rebel Yuth has been very busy on other projects that I'm extremely excited to be sharing with you here on Talk Casuals.

His latest project was working with Cloth Store. Rebel Yuth illustrated Creep by Hiroshi Awai AW14 line in his distinct signature style. Rebel Yuth has said that in terms of the ideas behind the illustrations, he wanted to keep them quite fluid to echo the old style of Japanese artwork, which also ties in with the backdrops of the illustrations. They feature two modern Japanese backgrounds and two rural traditional backgrounds. This perfectly reflects the aesthetic of Creeps AW14 line; blending the modern with the traditional.

Click Read More to check out Rebel Yuth's illustrations of his favourite pieces featured on the backdrop of the Japanese countryside and Tokyo City. You can also shop the CREEP by Hiroshi Awai AW14 Collection here.

So if you have been anywhere near the Talk Casuals Facebook page, my personal Instagram and Twitter, or just been keeping up with posts here on the blog, the #lovemyhood project won't be new to you!

The evening of 20th November saw the private launch of the exhibition for the London stage of Bench's #lovemyhood campaign. The campaign celebrates the hood, which has been an integral piece of each and every Bench collection since they began back in Manchester in the late 1980’s.  Check out my previous post here to read a little more about the campaign.

Hosted at Hoxton Basements, I was in absolute awe when I stepped into the exhibition. Instant good vibes and the final portraits all looked insane! I was so impressed! It also felt a little strange seeing myself in A0 and twice over! But saying that, it was so great seeing the final products for mine and Rebel Yuth's collaboration in the flesh!

Big thank you to all the Canoe Inc. team for involving me and my blog in the Bench campaign! It's been so much fun and I've met some absolutely great people in the process! Click Read More to check out some of the pictures I took at the exhibition!

If you haven't already click here to get involved in the #lovemyhood competition!

December 2nd sees the online launch of the latest Saucony collaboration, this time with Penfield and it’s a match made in heaven for these two Boson based brands.

The three models are based on the classic Shadow Original trainer, the 60/40 name comes from the fabric composition mix between cotton/nylon on their windproof and water resistance fabric used throughout this collection and extensively by Penfield since its inception in 1975.  Picked due in part to the materials ability to withstand the manufacturing process for footwear but also to compliment the durability of the suede and mesh used on the trainers.

On Thursday I had the pleasure of being invited to Offspring Shoreditch to see the unveiling of their latest collaboration with Adidas – the Mono Luxe Pack and it wouldn’t be Offspring without a few beers and a chance to catch up with like-minded sneaker heads.

This exclusive pack is made up of a Red Croc ZX420 and Black Stingray Torsion Response Lite – two retro models that have been brought bang up to date.  The ZX420 looks great with the leather mix and popping bright red finish an absolute winner for me.  The Response is the more understated of the two but nonetheless just as crisp with the delicate stingray design across the eyestay (fabric surrounding the lace opening) and heel counter.

So this Saturday marked the return of Crepe City for its 12th installment and 5th anniversary and it delivered a birthday bonanza.

Hosted again at The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane the event had grown even bigger since the summer event, now commanding about 22,000sq.ft of space and taking over multiple rooms in a maze of sneaker goodness to cater to everyone’s needs.

It was great to see the usual mix of private sellers alongside established retailers like Wellgosh and Sole Heaven offering all the brands you could ask for and at a budget to suit everyone.  The Nike Air Mag I spotted was unfortunately out of my price league but ace to see this up close and personal for the first time and I was extremely jealous that the seller didn’t only have one pair but had doubled up!

I was recently invited to take part in the London stage of a global project Bench are undertaking entitled #LoveMyHood. The project celebrates the hood being an integral piece of every Bench collection since they began, back in Manchester in the late 1980’s. Each country has developed a different interpretation of #LoveMyHood, from working with sculptors and street artists to blogger styling projects to showroom open days.

The London stage of the project focused on the blogger and how they have become such a formidable part of the fashion landscape. The concept was to turn the lenses of bloggers back on themselves, by inviting them to be photographed or illustrated by one of four incredible artists.

Andrew Khozravani, a South London based illustrator and animator who’s past clients include Dazed & Confused, Slam City Skates and Wu Tang Clan. Dominic Marley who can count Nike, Redbull and Carhartt among the pages of his photography portfolio. Sussex based creative and illustrator Rebel Yuth aka John Ryan Speed, who brings music culture to life through his intricate line drawings and Stew Capper, portrait photographer and proud contributor to NME, Article and Vice Magazine.

The four artists each captured four bloggers and all 16 portraits will be shown as part of a gallery event in November. Talk Casuals are alongside talent like The Unisexmode, Snoochie Shy, Pause Magazine and Apparently Magazine also involved in the resulting artwork that will be officially launched at a private view exhibition on 20th November.

I was so excited to be invited to be a part of Bench's global campaign. Click Read More to check out my involvement in the exhibition.

Despite my choice of footwear brand definitely broadening over the last 12-14 months, with brands like PUMA becoming more and more popular amongst my trainer collection, I will always have a soft spot for Nike. Here at Talk Casuals we're always excited when images of a new size? x Nike collaboration surface! So it was no different when these two new Air Huarache Light colourways we're unveiled.

It seems to be non-stop for this dream team, with the 'Midnight Forest' pack set to release only a week after the drop of the size? x Nike Air Huarache Light “Mowabb”.

Both the rich shade of olive and deep navy feature a thick mesh and soft suede uppers, set upon that signature clean white base. Plus, if these autumnal colourways weren't enough to make you want to buy, 3M flecks throughout the laces are the icing on the cake!

The forest green colourway are definitely my favourite in this pack, but both have certainly impressed! The "Midnight Forest" pack will be available this Friday, 7th November, from size? at 8am GMT. Retailing at £90 in sizes UK6-UK12, including half sizes, I would definitely be picking up a pair if I didn't have such diddy sized feet!

What are your thoughts? Check out some more imagery below.

The PUMA 'Throwbacks' Collection harks back to a time when hip-hop, b-boys, b-girls and sportswear took over the world. PUMA was at the very forefront of this movement, and on top of the PUMA sneaker boom, whole crews would wear matching PUMA tracksuits.  For AW14, PUMA channels its old school roots and gives the style a modern twist!
The 'Throwbacks' Collection brings back the iconic colour-block aesthetic and updates it for the modern B-boys and B-girls of today. Fresh from the archive and re-worked, the collection will see a selection of head to toe staple classics complete with oversized 'formstripe strike-through' logo, block panelling, and a choice of colour palette built around two colour-ways of the PUMA Trinomic XT1+ Winterised footwear. Neutral tones teamed with striking colour pops suitably compliment each other; marking the very beginnings of an ongoing apparel collection.

I'm a big fan of this collection, I think the aesthetic reflects the movement perfectly and I'm definitely smitten by the chosen colour palette. If you're impressed too, you can pick up the collection now at ASOS and Urban Outfitters.

Crep Protect is a hydrophobic solution which uses revolutionary nanotechnology to create an invisible, protective barrier that prevents rain and stains from damaging footwear. As you can see in the video, the treated surfaces will repel most liquids and this durable treatment can last for approximately two weeks.

Talk Casuals is definitely an avid supporter of Crep Protect and it's product. It's a must have for any trainer head or anyone who, like myself, just wants their footwear to look impeccable at all times. Make sure you check out the video above if you haven't already, it's insane seeing what Crep Protect can do!

In the two years since it's launch, the London based company's meteoric rise has been phenomenal and the spray is now stocked at all UK high street footwear stores including Footlocker and JD Sports, plus fashion outlets such as Urban Outfitters and a number of independent stores. Crep Protect have recently introduced the latest product in the line, a cleaner kit called The Cure, with additional product launches in the pipeline as their portfolio continues to grow. I'm more than excited to see how the company and it's product continue to develop.

PUMA are absoloutely spoiling us this Autumn/Winter and they don't seem to be slowing up any time soon! The most recent launch for PUMA's fast track programme is the 'Green Box' Pack. I've had my eye on these since the first preview I saw, simply for that colour!

All three silhouettes are decked out in Pantone’s classic green from the original Trinomic PUMA box. A brilliant idea that has produced a real clean and fresh colourway when it sits on that crisp white sole.

The Blaze of Glory 90s silhouette boasts an air mesh upper with soft buttery nubuck overlays and will be retailing at £95.00. The TPU piece feature a honeycomb graphic with colour pops in white on the heel pull. The look and build of the original ‘93 version of the runner, the R698, retailing at £80.00,  holds a textured nylon upper with nubuck overlays and green piping for a rich finish. PUMA’s most iconic running style the XT2+, retailing at £85.00, completes the pack, with its 90s model lightweight textile upper with a full grain leather form stripe in white. As well as being a head turner, this pack also showcases the best of PUMA running technology.

The 'Green Box' pack will be available in-store and online tomorrow, Friday, 31st October, at 5Pointz, Well Gosh & Chimp Clothing.

I'll definitely be grabbing a pair, but the question is which one! Let me know your thoughts and check out some more imagery below.

PUMA’s Fast Track programme dips into its extensive archives to re-launch the Court Star Clean Pack, an authentic classic 80's tennis court silhouette re-imagined in two new fresh AW14 colourways.

The silhouettes combination of comfort and style also meant it made its mark away from the tennis arena and the PUMA Court Star reissue seamlessly fits into the current streetwear and style scene.

This new premium casual clean sneaker has a chunkier performance inspired silhouette, which boasts rich and buttery nubuck leather with a smooth finish in black-marzipan beige and marzipan beige-black. The gold foil block detailing and PUMA archive logo badge completes this vintage re-issue. I'm a big big fan of this reissue, the colourway combination is so smart!

The Court Star Clean Pack is available from Friday the 24th of October retailing at £70 from End Clothing, Hanon Shop & Footpatrol.

Don't sleep on this release!

Gothenburg based apparel brand Velour by Nostalgi have long drawn inspiration from the music world. Avid festival goers, Velour’s design team set about reworking the classic Sperry Top-Sider CVO for the sometimes less than favorable conditions that can arise during outdoor concerts, the result; a clean take on a classic sneaker, perfectly suited for autumnal adventuring.

Next weekend sees the much-anticipated launch of the new Adidas Originals x SPEZIAL range, a capsule collection inspired by archive pieces but with a high-end modern update. To coincide with the launch, see’s the second coming of the Spezial exhibition previously shown in London but now moving to Manchester – a match made in heaven based on the heritage of the brand and it’s wearer.

After an image was discovered online of a hidden gem in terms of a retail store in Argentina and a chance to discover some rare archive pieces to show at the exhibition, the A(didas)Team formed of Gary Aspden, Robert Brooks, Ian Brown & Mike Chetcuti and documented by Neil Bedford & Neil Bond set off in search of those old blue boxes and in turn the documentary “Sole Searching in South America” was created.

I was invited to the screening of the documentary at the new flagship Adidas store in London and the film was nothing short of breathtaking for anyone into trainers, to have walked into a store which was like something out of a museum and be faced with box after box of deadstock kicks – some you know and models you have never heard of must have been the stuff dreams are made of.

Born in 2013, East London based clothing brand Nicce have quickly established themselves as a street wear brand with a difference. In just over a year the East London based designers have created collections that provide simple, no-nonsense designs.

This AW14, Nicce Women’s collection takes on an old school feel with classic athletic cut shorts, vests and tees. Featuring the classic logo, the pieces are perfect for making the most out of the last of the summer sun. One of my personal favourites of the collection include the All Star Baseball Jersey demonstrating the designer’s exploration into unisex fashion.
But, if I'm honest, the whole collection is great. The thing I love about this brand is their pieces are always clean cut and simple, yet they still manage to create unique, signature pieces that definitely make them stand out from other brands. Sticking to their simple palette, this collection is available in black and white, and as always the designs are suitable for all occasions. This is something I always look for in a brand - pieces that tick all the boxes for comfort and style.
Make sure you keep an eye on this brand, I'm really excited to see how Nicce London develop with their future collections.

THFKDLF are dropping latest capsule collection later today, aptly titled 'Clouds'. Keeping it clean and simple with this release, THFKDLF have taken one image and incorporated differently it onto each piece of their collection.

With a clear theme running throughout the collection, and and even cleaner Lookbook, I've got a lot of time for this brand. You can definitely see how it's developing and coming into it's own with every release, yet consistently remaining with their signature style. It's nice to see a brand growing but still sticking to it's roots!

This capsule collection for AW14 features a longer length curved hem hoodie with lots of subtle detailing, two longer length relaxed sweatshirts, two tees, a long sleeve and accessories including socks and a holdall bag. I'm a big fan of a long sleeve and coming into the colder seasons, its definitely a staple piece for anyones wardrobe!

As always with THFKDLF, all items are cut, printed and sewn in their Shropshire studio, always support your home grown brands! Check out the collection available as of 6pm on their store here, and let us know what you think here

Critics Clothing, founded by Creative Director Samanah Duran, have just released their their new AW14 collection. The collection plays host to a selective palette, but who can argue with monochrome?! Featuring inspiration from catwalk trends with a mixture of textures, including my favourites - leather, and mesh, Critics Clothing have created monochrome designs that fit perfectly with London’s street style movement.

The collections main inspiration was derived from Samanah’s travels to the West Coast of America and her discovery of Mayan art. The Quetzal feathered crown, once worn by Mayan kings features as the brands logo and celebrates strength and power- characteristics that mirror the designer’s strong personality and enhance the brand’s image. You can definitely see how this brand is developing and maturing from previous seasons.

This season’s highlights, and my favourite pieces, include bodysuits and cropped tees for us ladies. But I'm always partial to a good graphic tee and this collection doesn't let me down! With a combination of bold prints and intricate designs, I definitely think this release is a big one, ticking all the right boxes for AW trends!

Check out some more pictures below and head over to Critics Clothing to pick up some of the collection!

Fast becoming one of my favourites, the PUMA  Blaze of Glory is back again with an upgrade! For AW14, the Tech Edition Blaze of Glory shows us the epitome of merging sport and style. Playing host to premium materials, laser cute perforations and performance soles, this could very well be my favourite colourway yet.

The 'Tech Edition' stays true to its roots, whilst enhancing the sleek and distinctive aestetic we can always rely on with the Blaze of Glory.

Autumn is definitely here come September 27th, and we're prepared whatever the weather. The 'Tech Edition' will see the Blaze of Glory take on a rugged leather construction, executed in a subtle black colourway and a clean Copen blue option.

Both colourways will be available online and in-store at Size?, End Clothing, Footpatrol and Hanon Shop.  Releasing in sizes UK4 - UK12, everyone gets a look in on this one! I'll definitely be picking up a pair, the question is - which one?!

Check out some more imagery below for an up-close look at the pack. Which colour is your favourite?

Daisy Knights is a british jewellery designer who is is launching a brand new collection which will provide a little decorative detail for your footwear!

The Lace Dimes range features Daisy’s signature feather and skull designs re-invigorated as street wear embellishment. The five gold vermeil styles sit either into the lace eyelets or on the base of the tongue, to suit a variety of trainers. This is a brilliant concept to make your trainers a little more, and can definitely reinvent a simple pair of Vans into a real a head turner!

For the braver of us, Daisy offers the Big Feather and Lotus clips whilst the smaller designs include the Small Feather set, Triple Skull and Skull set with cubic zirconia eyes.

Daisy said, “As a designer and a big trainer fan - I wear my Vans to death - I’m always thinking of ways to personalise them and think the Lace Dimes are a great way to subtly embellish your footwear. It’s been great to have Vans support the range by working together to showcase them to their full potential - they look awesome against a classic sneaker.”

The Lace Dimes collection was debuted at LFW and will run alongside the Daisy Knights Core collection of updated best sellers. The collection will be launching in stores pre-Christmas, so make sure you're following Daisy Knights on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date!

We definitely want to get our hands (or feet rather!) on these! What do you think?

On Wednesday 10th September I was invited to the Milestone Hotel Kensington for the Flossy Style AW14 Blogger event. This was one of the nicest blogger events I've been to in a while and I had such a great time checking out the product and meeting the other girls! Greeted with a glass of Prosecco on arrival and the most delicious canapés, I was in my element!

Now, most of you reading are probably well aware that my feet are never usually out of trainers so I'll be honest, I was skeptical about the Flossy Style shoes, but never have I underestimated the comfort and look of a shoe so much in my life! I should probably eat my own hat! Gifted with the Girona Black Monochrome Dot Plimsoll from Flossy's new Monochrome range, once they were on, I genuinely didn't want to take them off my feet.

Quality and comfort was second to none and the strawberry smell was also a pleasant surprise! I hate having uncomfortable shoes on, probably the reason I never buy anything other than trainers, but thanks to Flossy Style and Canoe Inc I now own my perfect non-trainer shoe! I'd recommend these to any girl (or guy!) that wants something a little more dressy but still as just as comfy as your everyday trainer! Check out just a few pictures from the event below and make sure you follow @flossy_style on Twitter!
