SY Illustrations are no new name to Talk Casuals. With the new project hosting a real fresh twist on trainer illustrations, I had to share it with you!

A rebus is an allusional device that uses pictures to represent words or parts of words. This has been perfectly played by SY, fully endorsing his simple and clean aesthetic.

The first printed preview launch of the 'sneaker' edition will be displayed at the Manchester sneaker lifestyle event, 6ACRE today! Make sure you head down to Unity Radio HQ / No1 Primrose Street, M4 6AQ and pick up a print!

Give SY a follow on Instagram and Twitter and make sure you #TalkCasuals on any pictures of your prints! We want to see!

With the sun finally making an appearance and my suede and mesh babies slowly but surely retreating from their boxes where they've been hibernating all winter; there is no doubt I am looking for more summer inspired colourways to rock in the heat!

I have been saying it for a while now, and with every new release, my opinion that 2014 is the year for PUMA only strengthens. This upcoming pack from PUMA only reinforces that they're a brand to invest it; the quality is always on point.

The material execution on the Blaze of Glory is a perfect summer mix of sophistication and performance. The main part of the sock like upper is made from the mesh used on the PUMA Faas performance footwear range, for a technical look. The overlays are premium nubuck with a rich tonal uppers and subtle pop colours on stitching and mid-sole branding.

The R698 follows the same performance mesh upper, this time with overlays made from premium suede. The colour palette for these styles is inspired by the seasonal Brasilian theme and is the reverse of the Blaze of Glory with an all-over vibrant colour application.

This pack will be available instore this Friday, 18th April 2014 at Hanon, End & Footpatrol. Be smart and pick a pair up!

PUMA's  'Tropicalia' pack was released through PUMA's CREAM programme and landed at Hanon, End and Footpatrol on the 12th April 2014. For those of you who missed them, find out a little more about the pack below. If you did pick up a pair, we want to see! I'm very sad this particular pack doesn't cater for us smaller footed trainer heads!

PUMA's rich running footwear archive has seen some revitalisation as of late, bringing back the original green boxes that the brand was renowned for, as well as their advanced Trinomic technology which first shot to fame in the early '90s.

2013 saw the re-issue of some key silhouettes for PUMA from their back catalogue, in particular the Trinomic XT2+

Well, 2014 is definitely the year for PUMA and if they were in my size, I'd have been all over this release! This season sees this style alongside the ever important R698 given a tropical treatment - a graphic inspired by Brazil's national flower, the ipê-amarelo. Staying in line with the brands theme for Spring Summer, these styles give a nod to the summer trend in a subtle way with the print added to the lining. Its such a clean and subtle colourway and it would have gone straight to the top of my 'To Buy' list.

Available in tonal black and tonal khaki with tropical pop colours, both also feature premium, soft buttery nubuck executions and heavy canvas materials and for the R698, a laser perforated toe box for an updated, refreshed look.

For SS14, PUMA are introducing a new programme named CREAM that replaces The LIST. CREAM will be defined by the most exclusive PUMA collaborations as well as limited in-line product that will have cross selected distribution. CREAM product will include re-issues from the extensive PUMA archive as well as global and market specific collaborations. CREAM will be the crème de la crème in terms of product and collaboration with more comprehensive objectives and allocation closer to what the market needs.

The Talk Casuals Team is getting bigger and better and I am so excited to introduce you to our newest member, Sarah Butcher! After her blog takeover I knew she would be a perfect addition to the team!

Check out her latest post here and get to know her a little better in our interview below!

Tell us a little about you...
I’m 35yrs old and luckily due to the power of E45 I’m still getting asked ID! I’ve been living in North London for the past 11yrs, which works well supporting the better of the two footie teams based around these parts.

I am a senior buyer for a high street retailer and worked in the industry since uni, which is perfect with my love of shopping although my dream would be to one day work for a sneaker brand/retailer.

When did you start getting into trainers and streetwear?
I’ve been into sneaks since as far back as I can remember, it all started when my nan bought me my Reebok BB4600 hi-top in the classic white/blue colourway around the mid 80s. Throughout the 80s/early 90s I had a love affair with Reebok Pump, both sneaks & clothing and then I discovered the Max 95 on a trip to the US and I became a Nike girl!

Talk Casuals Team member Sarah passed through the Crepe City 10 event a couple weekends back and has sorted a little review for anyone who missed it. Check it out below!

With the sun shining bright and the queuing sneakerheads at Old Truman Brewery, East London with heat on their feet too, it could only mean one thing – Crepe City 10.

Taking over two floors, this promised to be the biggest and best event so far and the Crepe City crew delivered with “trainers by the truckloads, trainers by the ton” in the words of Dizzee Rascal.  But more than just sneaks, this was an all-encompassing lifestyle event with clothing, art, jewellery, barbershop, tattoo artist, shoe cleaning and DJs on both levels to keep the atmosphere bouncing throughout.
