CREPE CITY 10 REVIEW

Talk Casuals Team member Sarah passed through the Crepe City 10 event a couple weekends back and has sorted a little review for anyone who missed it. Check it out below!

With the sun shining bright and the queuing sneakerheads at Old Truman Brewery, East London with heat on their feet too, it could only mean one thing – Crepe City 10.

Taking over two floors, this promised to be the biggest and best event so far and the Crepe City crew delivered with “trainers by the truckloads, trainers by the ton” in the words of Dizzee Rascal.  But more than just sneaks, this was an all-encompassing lifestyle event with clothing, art, jewellery, barbershop, tattoo artist, shoe cleaning and DJs on both levels to keep the atmosphere bouncing throughout.

This was a real display of the finest footwear that has ever been made with OGs on foot along with recent quick strikes and the inevitable Yeezy’s making an appearance.  A lot of mutual appreciation was being shown between the older heads and the newer kids who are embracing the game, which was really nice to see. 

The sellers had everything eager buyers wanted with Clyde making the trip over from NZ especially for the event to provide the OG Huarache’s along with some of the sold out recent releases and being inundated most of the day.  Prime bringing a wall of heat with AM1 Chlorophyll, Premium Beast, Supreme Animal Pack, Premium TZ Patta, Patta x Parra and Amsterdams’ – pretty much the who’s who of the Air Max world!  We also had Joel & James reppin from U-Dox with a tidy set-up with the “Sneakers: Complete Limited Editions” book and a few of the beauties featured within – seeing the all White premium leather version of the Superstar to celebrate the 35^th anniversary being a real highlight for me.

Alongside the main event there was also a partnership with Adidas on a pop up shop for the launch of the Adidas ZX Flux and the CC team donning friends & family purple editions.  The main man himself Robert Brooksy made an appearance for the ZX Flux competition for those rocking their favorite Adidas heat with one lucky winner picking up the ZX8000 OG colourway - a great way to end an amazing day.  I also got to talk to Robert about his collab with Adidas on the “Collectors Project” and he told me how working with the brand he has been collecting for some 20yrs was something very special.

With Crepe City being recognised by Complex.com as the UK's premier sneaker festival it really didn’t disappoint. I even came away with a few pick ups myself with some OG’93 Huarache Light, DS Air Max 97 Valentines, Supreme Hat & Krate & Co display box - covered by Talk Casuals back in January. I’m really happy with the kicks as I’ve been after my 1st Lights for some time but always a challenge finding in small sizes (a typical female sneakerhead issue!) although my sister picked up her 2nd pair at CC10 so I’m still playing catch up!
