RECORD STORE DAY 2015: PUMA X TRAX COUTURE X FOOTPATROL

On Saturday 18th April 2015, the world celebrated Record Store Day, a day that pays homage to independent record stores, their unique culture and the continued production of the vinyl music format.

Following its birth in the USA in 2007, the UK followed suit and commemorated Record Store Day for the 8th time running this year, taking place in Soho, where record labels big and small produced limited edition products for one day only!

Mixing it up this year is Sports giant PUMA who teamed with Soho based, globally renowned sneaker boutique, Footpatrol to celebrate the day through the eyes of London underground record label, Trax Couture. The collaborative project took place in the Footpatrol store where you were able to purchase a limited edition, customised PUMA Trax Patrol sneaker, made especially for Record Store Day.

Receiving the custom treatment is the PUMA R698 model, with a ‘PUMA Trax Patrol’ tongue label, additional black/reflective rope lace, aqua speckled midsole and 3D printed USB lace jewel. For a premium finish, the R698 was presented in a bespoke, matte black box featuring a silk screened project logo. Additionally, a limited edition 12” vinyl by record label head and producer Rushmore was also sold on the day alongside the R698's. The 4x track EP with only 50 copies produced worldwide, finish off the collaborative project for RSD perfectly.
