PUMA X MONKEY TIME - THE DISC BLAZE "ORCINUSORCA"
With what could very well be my favourite release this year, (I know, I say it a lot - but have you seen these?! PUMA just keep surpassing themselves!) PUMA continue their rich heritage of collaborating with premium retailers worldwide. The Disc Blaze "Orcinusorca" is the first collaboration with renowned Japanese retailer Monkey Time. Inspired by killer whales or orcas, the Trinomic Disc Blaze takes inspiration and excellently depicts their distinctive black and white colours - the perfect representation of this majestic whale.
The PUMA X Monkey Time Disc Blaze remains true to the original silhouette of 90’s iconic running shoes Disc Blaze, originally released as a performance running shoe and eventually made its way onto the streets as an every day trainer.
Layering different patterned perforated mesh for the upper, the monochromatic colourway represents its inspirational source of killer whales whilst reflective splatter prints on mid soles represent splashes of dynamic breaching by killer whales. Reflectors are also applied to the heel parts and formstripe which makes the silhouette really stand out.
