TERRIBLE MOVEMENT X KANGOL AT BOXPARK


Kangol and Talk Casuals favourites Terrible Movement have collaborated to create a brand new line of jersey apparel, which coincides with the launch of Radio Kangol in the UK. The KNGLxTRRBL collection will be available to buy at Boxpark Shoreditch pop-up from October 5th – 11th 2015.

The partnership between iconic global street brand Kangol and Hackney based streetwear label Terrible Movement is a match made in heaven; Kangol, best known for it’s headwear has previously collaborated with Marc by Marc Jacobs, Disney and Everlast, and not to mention all of the amazing musicians who are fans of the brand: LL Cool J, The Beatles, Oasis and Eminem. What makes this collaboration so special is it’s the first clothing collaboration in Kangol’s 76 year history.

ARO WORLDWIDE - SS15 LOOKBOOK


ARO Clothing are an independent skate and streetwear brand based in the UK and as you know, we love supporting home grown brands here on the blog!

As part of their latest collection they've just dropped a selection of new tees and we really like them! Helping us hold on to what we can of summer, these tee's are cool, clean and a little different to what we've seen before! But with such an adaptive piece, these tees can be taken right through the winter season layered under your favourite winter jacket!

My favourite pieces from the collection are the Skate Tee and the Afro Tee! You can never have enough t-shirts, its the easiest clothing option but these tee's make that option effortlessly cool.

CAT FOOTWEAR - NEW INTERACT-MID


The Interact-Mid is CAT Footwear's brand new style for AW15 and is a classic mid-height shoe. Made from a full grain leather for the upper and a nylon mesh lining as well as featuring a Strobel construction providing a traditional trainer experience.


I love this sports/workboot hybrid and I really think this is going to be a massive hit with sneakerheads putting their mesh and suede kicks back in their boxes for winter. I really ma a big fan of this urban sport approach to utility style where comfort is not compromised.

The Interact-Mid is now available online now in three colourways and is part of 3 new styles released by CAT Footwear in celebration of their exciting new partnership with rugby legends, the Leicester Tigers. The Interact-Mid will join the classic core styles ‘Founder’ and ‘Highbury’ as a collection that underpin the “built strong, built tough” ethos. All three products feature the lightest, most durable soles offered by Cat Footwear and include EASE, which is the latest footwear technology developed by the brand. EASE is the high-performance comfort system within the soles of this new range and is durable, shock absorbing and lightweight. 

HOUSE OF VANS LONDON PRESENTS // CLICHÉ X MR. MEN



In celebration of the forthcoming collaboration between Cliché and Mr Men, the House of Vans London gallery space will play host to an extra special exhibition, curated by Cliché. From 16th September House of Vans gallery space will be transformed to showcase an array of limited edition and archive product from both companies including boards, vintage toys and prints.

On Saturday 19th September guests of House of Vans had the chance to witness the creation of original artwork from Mr Men illustrator Adam Hargreaves. Hargreaves’ customised black Cliché decks and guests were able to take a deck away with them as a keepsake!

Elsewhere, all day in the cinema guests relaxed and enjoyed a combination of Cliché skate team footage and classic Mr Men cartoons.

CHEAP MONDAY PRESENTS BORROWED JEANS


For AW15, Cheap Monday presents Borrowed Jeans: a playful twist on proportions which sets the denim look for the season.

The Borrowed Jeans collection comprises of 6 fits inspired by the jeans you long to borrow from someone else to get that perfect look, whether it be your boyfriend, girlfriend, best friend or even your mum. The collections offer three fits for women - Donna, Common & Omega and three for men - Sonic, Linear & Him Spray. For the Borrowed Jeans campaign, Cheap Monday have also collaborated with top Swedish bloggers Frida Vega Salomonsson and Gustav Broström who have created their favourite looks from the collection, shooting images using their own personal, creative expression. I'll be sharing my favourite looks of theirs with you here!

The oversized Common is a brand new fit for AW15 with a mid-rise waist and straight legs making for the perfect boyfriend fit in an effortlessly-styled, lazy Sunday kind of manner. Wear Common in hero wash & worn rinse Holocene teamed with a chunky knit and heels for a diverse, ever-cool look.


Donna is Cheap Monday’s take on Mom jeans, and are actually my favourite of the 3 women's fits. Donna is the perfect throwback silhouette with a high-rise waist and tapered leg. Favourite wash, ODD, is an indigo blue, faded-out rinse that calls for a sweatshirt and sneakers mix. My absolute go-to outfit. Frida also went for a chilled vibe but keeping a punk edge to the outfit with chunky boots and a staple leather jacket. 

EASTPAK LAUNCH CAMPAIGN TO FIND NEXT YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR


Lifestyle brand Easkpak have just launched a new European campaign to support and celebrate urban creative business.

With the spirit of entrepreneurship alive and kicking across Europe, backpack brand Eastpak is launching its Core Series campaign across eight European countries to celebrate and support ambitious young urban entrepreneurs.

The Core Series project (named after Eastpak’s lifestyle and functional Core Series range of city bags and travel luggage) has recruited 24 European entrepreneur ambassadors to celebrate their skills and harness their knowledge to inspire a new generation of business owners.


The Core Series Ambassadors come from all walks of life and industries located in an urban or city landscape. In the UK, Eastpak will be working with identical twins Gary and Alan Keery – owners of Cereal Killer Cafe, Jaega Wise – head brewer of Wild Card Brewery and Steve Bartlett – the 22 year old CEO of The Social Chain.


SPERRY'S 'THE ODYSSEY PROJECT' CAMPAIGN - EMMY THE GREAT


For their latest campaign, Sperry is handing over creative control to their ambassadors, letting each one drive the direction of the content they create. Launching in conjunction with the brands 80th anniversary Sperry is sending 80 ambassadors around the world to document their journeys in diverse locations.

The most recent Odyssey is musician and Hong Kong native Emmy the Great. Having been born in Hong Kong, Sperry sent Emmy over to Hong Kong to discover the place of her heritage in her own Odyssey. 

The project is a compelling, experiential and content-creation initiative that celebrates inspirational discoveries and encourages individuals to move out of their comfort zones, visit unexpected places, try unfamiliar things and discover more about themselves and the world around them.

REEF VIDEO LOOKBOOK - JAPAN // JUST PASSING THROUGH


Global surf lifestyle brand Reef, that live by the "Just Passing Through" mentality of surf adventure, have recently introduced their newest look book video - Japan // Just Passing Through. 

I love this Lookbook video, it features some awesome views and landscapes and of course great pieces from the collection. It really embodies the fun and creativity of Reef as a brand. Make sure you check it out above! What are your thoughts?

GRAND SCHEME AW15 LOOKBOOK



Australian brand Grand Scheme return with their AW15 collection this month, continuing it’s upwards trajectory as they build season on season.

Grand Scheme was founded in Australia with a rebellious DIY spirit, and has since grown into a highly covetable brand that is stocked in leading retailers worldwide, including stores we know and love like Urban Industry.

ials and clean, functional design with classic references and street-ready designs, the collection features lightweight outerwear and sweatshirts to streetwear-staple graphics tees and headwear. Grand Scheme unify the graphic elements of streetwear and the premium cut-and-sew nature of traditional menswear to maintain a contemporary aesthetic that absolutely kills it!



A few of my favourites include the Aviator Flight Jacket and the Porcelain Reversible Bucket Hat. But there is so much to this collection, panelled tees, patterned fleece hoodie, mesh camp camps, it's hard to have favourites!

VANS WEATHERIZED FOOTWEAR AND APPAREL COLLECTION


With the arrival of Autumn, and the inevitable British weather,  it's no surprise that we're all taking a little longer deciding on what we're going to wear every morning to make sure we're prepared for anything and everything.

As always, Vans are making life a little easier and a little more stylish for us. After their first delivery of weatherized products back in AW14, Vans are bringing us back footwear and apparel to withstand the elements.

AW15 see's products revamped with Scotchgard treated uppers, warm linings and a heat retention layer between sockliner and outsole, the Vans Weatherized collection returns for fall 2015 with a Classics footwear assortment featuring the Old Skool MTE and Sk8-Hi MTE. In addition to the footwear program, Men’s Apparel brings forth an updated collection of Weatherized outerwear just in time for the cold months.

RIHANNA REVEALS THE DEBUT PUMA BY RIHANNA FOOTWEAR COLLECTION‏



Whether you were looking forward to this partnership or not, you won't be able to deny that you've all been waiting for this reveal!

There were some controversial opinions when PUMA announced Rihanna as their Women’s Creative Director and Brand Ambassador (check out our post here) so I'm intrigued to hear what peoples thoughts are now, but I know I think these are cool!

Global Sports Brand PUMA and Bad Gal RiRi kick off their first venture with the release of the PUMA BY RIHANNA Collection under Rihanna’s FENTY label. Under her creative direction, the first collection introduces the PUMA Creeper, remixing the iconic PUMA Suede with a little bit punk and a little bit rebel. 

The PUMA Creeper harnesses the music and fashion feel of the revolutionary punk era with PUMA’s deep sporting heritage. Punk lit the streets bright on King’s Road in London and it soon caused a stir in the late 80’s in lower Manhattan’s underground club scene. The clubs have since closed but the culture never left, influencing the city’s fashion and music scene for years to come. That is the inspiration behind the PUMA Creeper. 

This revamp of one of our favourite classics has Rihanna's signature vibe all over it. There is no doubt the Puma x Rihanna lovechild is absolutely fabulous!

FELDT AW15 LOOKBOOK



London based brand Feldt, a Talk Casuals favourite, have unveiled their AW15 collection and I am head over heels in love. Feldt claimed their pieces are for everyday wear in all seasons and there is no doubt they've lived up to their mantra! Styled against an idyllic Swedish backdrop, their AW collection is presented perfectly.

As always Fedlt's functional, easy, and fun signature style is present here, with unisex and a heavy utility/workwear trend (one of my personal favourites). Reworked military cuts and oversized fits combined with an autumnal landscape colour palette creates a gorgeous androgynous collection. I will always love Feldt for bringing us masculine cuts for ladies and doing it so well! For AW15, brand designer Audrey Littman channels inspiration from growing up in the small town of Mehedeby, Sweden, and I think the Lookbook demonstrates this exceptionally.

PUMA RELEASE THE R698 SOFT PACK‏


I don't think much really needs saying about this pack, I mean, just look at it!

The R698 Soft Pack is the latest addition to PUMA's Trinomic R698 range, and I am fully besotted.

The R698 Soft Pack employs all the classic features you’d expect from the R698 using the hexagonal Trinomic system technology to ensure maximum comfort but this time, PUMA have done something a little different...

For the R698 Soft Pack, instead of amplifying the style, PUMA have done the same and toned it down, stripping the runner back to its original design to create a super clean and simple shoe. It looks amazing!

The shoe flourishes in a soft, plush suede upper with subtle perforations for a lightweight finish making it the perfect end of summer shoe. The richness of the suede combined with the light and playful colours of grey, pastel pink and dark contrast of black and teal make this pack truly delectable. 

The PUMA R698 Soft Pack drops in store  this week! On 11th September you'll be able to pick up the Black & Blue Heaven from stockists like Footpatrol and Well Gosh, the Drizzle Silver from Size? and those dreamy pastel Pink's from Pam Pam.

INDCSN LOOKBOOK BY HOMEGROWN DIAMONDS



indcsn have released a new lookbook to accompany their latest collection. The lookbook was shot on location in Bergen, Norway, by photographer Homegrown Diamonds, and features a selection of products from the brand’s new range. 

The latest collection continues the clean graphic style the Leeds-based brand have become known for, with highlights including the darkly tropical Rest In Paradise tee and the straight-to-the-point nihilism of the Sex Pistols-referencing No Future design. What I love about this brand is just just ooze style, and they're pieces are effortlessly cool, whatever way they're styled. It's staple pieces like these that are essential in anyone and everyone's wardrobes, and even their fun graphics have a more mature/heritage vibe to them - it's awesome!

VANS AW15 - THIS IS THE SK8-HI


Summer may be on it's way out for us, our autumnal vibes don't need to be squashed by summer blues because Vans are lacing up to celebrate the indisputable heritage and classic cool of the Sk8-Hi. 

The Sk8-Hi has forever been one of my favourite footwear choices, I have numerous pairs all in different stages of wear. The Sk8-Hi is a silhouette that will never not be in my footwear rotation and I'm so excited that for the season ahead, Vans presents an expanded selection of Sk8-Hi styles. They're revisiting classics and paying a well deserved homage to this icon with all-new colourways, collaborations and fabrications.

Introduced in 1978, and formally referred to as Style #38, the Sk8-Hi was Vans’ first high top sneaker. Created in response to the growing popularity of Vert Skating, the Sk8-Hi offered the cushioning, support and protection demanded by this new breed of skater. In the late 1980s, skateboarding went back to the streets. 


The literal rise of ollie and flip tricks saw skaters wearing through shoes faster than ever, and so a reinforced ‘ollie patch’ was added to the Sk8-Hi: improving durability and keeping skaters in their favoured shoes. Since then, the silhouette has remained largely unchanged. Later, as street skating took hold, the Sk8-Hi was adopted as the footwear of choice for the Bones Brigade: a crew established by Stacey Peralta and Craig Stecyk, and undeniably the most competitively dominant skateboard team in history. As pioneers of modern technical skating and breaking new ground with video edits that were truly ahead of their time, the Bones Brigade were incredibly influential and a force to be reckoned with.

"THE HISTORY OF FRESH" WEEKENDER


The new experience from We Are Parable is here!  “The History of Fresh” on the 24th -25th October is a weekender that will celebrate and chronicle the relationship streetwear has with popular culture in the US and here, in the UK.

On Saturday 24th, they will preview a screening of the highly anticipated streetwear documentary “Fresh Dressed” (15) at the Rio Cinema in Dalston, East London. With interviews featuring Pharrell, Kanye and Diddy, this is one film you don’t want to miss! They’ll also have a panel discussion with some of the UK’s most prominent streetwear experts to answer your questions. You can pick up your tickets here and check out the trailer below! Saturday will end with a fashion show celebrating upcoming designer talent in the UK, with customisation workshops and art. You will get free entry to this with your film ticket, but over 18's only!

The weekender comes to an end on Sunday 25th, when the guys at We Are Parable team up with Got Soul to create "Dressed Up", at Juno Bar in Shoreditch a night out that wants you to dress your freshest, while you listen to some classic hip hop, neo soul and much more. 

The "History of Fresh" weekender promises to be one of the biggest dates in the social calendar, so make sure you're there!


PUMA X SNEAKER FREAKER X PACKER BLAZE OF GLORY "BLOODBATH"‏


This season sees PUMA renew its alliance with world-renowned footwear boogazine Sneaker Freaker, creating the final chapter of an epic collaborative series – the Blaze of Glory ‘Bloodbath’. Joining the project from NYC is celebrated sneaker retailer, Packer Shoes.

I love hearing and reading about the inspirations and stories behind trainer releases and this one is a good one! It begins back in 2008 after an unlikely incident. An abalone diver was swallowed up to the waist by a great white shark on Australia’s East Coast and amazingly, lived to tell the tale. Sneaker Freaker found its muse and applied the shark inspiration to one of PUMA’s revolutionary archive running models – the Trinomic Blaze of Glory!

First up was the ‘Great White’ Blaze of Glory’s whose predatory instincts were the perfect vehicle for Sneaker Freaker’s subtle storytelling with colour and texture aspects that elaborated on the theme - silver mesh, blue water pops, an abstract ‘shark bite’ tongue logo and a ‘river of blood’ seemingly trickling from the Trinomic hexagon cells, emphasised by razor-sharp rubber fangs. An anodised shark tooth dangled from the shoes like a souvenir necklace acquired on a beachside summer vacation. The response was phenomenal.

Inspired by the positive reception, a second version flipped the silver palette to jet-black, adding a slash of vivid turquoise with hot pink highlights to the man-eating mix. Dubbed ‘Black Beast’, hype around the shoes went into overdrive and the legend continued to grow.

MY DOPE SOCKS - PRODUCT REVIEW


I'm really excited to introduce Mydopesocks to you guys! Mydopesocks are a UK based company offering high quality socks without the price tag!

Mydopesocks specialise in designing custom Nike Elite and HUF socks for their customers, whilst also creating and selling their own brand of socks* - there really is something for everyone! The guys over at Mydopesocks were kind enough to stock me up with a boss selection of their new designs to add some fun to my outfits! Bright colours, unique patters and most importantly, they feel so good on! 


The easiest part of my day was matching my socks to my trainers, they literally go with everything! If you're into socks, or want to inject a little bit of colour into your life - this is the best way how! Socks are an important part of an outfit, especially if you're wearing kicks you know people will be looking at!

NOBIS - VARSITY JACKETS

       
Nobis are a Premium Canadian outerwear brand that launched back in 2007. The brand offers iconic tailored Canadian down filled jackets that are inspired by a rediscovered appreciation for the more simplified lifestyle of the past. Nobis creates for the ever changing global winters, unpredictable seasonal conditions and the growing need for fashionable and functional outwear. 

They have introduced the Beacon Varsity jacket for men and Teagan for ladies into their Flyweights collection. The jackets are wind and rain resistant too all without compromising on style and with Raglan style and a minimalistic colour palette, you know I'm sold! 

Both jackets are available in a selection of colourways and features a Nobis branded crest on upper left arm for a subtle finish. What I also love about these, and something I think essential in any jacket, is storage! As well as exterior pockets, both versions have a discreet Internal pocket for added storage. 

Check out the colours available for both below. For once I think the ladies got the better deal with colour palette, I love the Black and Grey Teagan jacket. 

ROCAWEAR SS15 COLLECTION


     

US lifestyle brand Rocawear was created by Jay Z founded by Damon Dash and Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter back in 1999. This joint venture was launched off the back of Jay-Z's incredibly successful rapping and record producing career, not to mention his ownership of Roc-A-Fella Records. The duo set out to extend hip-hop beyond just the music by creating street-style apparel; making music a way of life.

The brand is going pretty strong here in the UK, and their SS15 collection features some great transitional pieces that will keep you looking good whatever our British weather throws at us! I really like it's laid back sports luxe vibe.

The collection features a selection of sweats from the monochrome collection through to the widely recognised renaissance series. Rocawear is now stocked on the House of Fraser website, shop the collection here and click read more to see more of the collection below.

DREADY X DJ ONEMAN LOOKBOOK


Iconic 90s brand Dready made a welcome return earlier this year, sparking waves of fond nostalgia from fans who wore it back in the day. The Dready brand saw a steep incline in 1981, enjoying success at music festivals before launching the showcasing at their first trade shows both in London and Europe.

Dready was the creation of a young Birmingham-based Rastafarian named Robert Sidlauskas who in the late 70’s and early 80’s used the power of his pencil (and biro) to convey his beliefs and ideals. Robert went on to create original and unique illustrations in the thousands, including his ubiquitous Dready character as well as a previously unseen crew; Barley Corn, Guru and Natty Dread, and his love interest Jellybean.

Inspiration for the art came from varying sources including reggae, punk rock, the experience of unemployment, as well as his beliefs in humanity and in finding an escape in art from the street life of the time. Bob Marley was a huge influence for Dready’s young Rasta character, both in physicality and his desired influence on a ‘worldwide positive vibe’. It was Robert’s old and dear friend, Christopher Carpenter who first saw the potential in his illustrations, citing him as the urban Mickey Mouse, and printing his creations onto clothes, creating the Dready clothing brand. Today, along with Robert’s family and Christopher’s daughter Victoria, the brand is being revived and the artist’s talent is once again being celebrated.


CRITICS CLOTHING - LADIES RANGE


Critics Clothing, a brand I have been following for just over a year now, is becoming one of the hottest brands around, and its all down to brand owner Samanah Duran - who really is taking being a female CEO to a next level of cool. 

Having initially started off designing unisex designs, she is now focusing on adding more female lines to the range, which I am SO excited about! Critics Clothing is about being your own person and are really interested in people who express individuality and I think they demonstrate this so well.

Here is Samanah Duran modelling for the brand adding “I always dabble in and out of modelling for my own label since I don't know if its frowned upon, but then again this is my label and a huge part of who I am, and I can do exactly as I wish to.”
